One hundred fifteen students from Serbia and forty students from Montenegro participated in our program during the academic years 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011 at 28 outstanding American universities.

Students represented their home universities, their cultures and their countries. That is why they were “Cultural ambassadors” of Montenegro and Serbia. All of them finished their academic year in the States with success and high grades. Doing community work helped them to better understand American culture and people. Furthermore, they had an opportunity to develop themselves on a professional level by doing internships in their field of study. Some of them even started or participated on very notable projects.

Today, students have identified themselves as leaders of positive change in Montenegro and Serbia. They applied their knowledge and their upgraded skills to make a better future in their social environment. By having studied in a diverse surrounding they learned the importance of team spirit and tolerance. Having sustainable development as a base of their further progress, they set a good example for their colleagues at their home universities in Montenegro and Serbia.

In order to help their academic and professional development after finishing this program, we support their student alumni organization MAYAA (Montenegrin American Youth Alumni Association) and Alumni Resource Center. Our mission is to provide them with space and possibility to network with other US Alumni students, opportunity to use our information resources and further develop their capacities.
