Budding Architect Brings Home New Perspectives—Since returning from her undergraduate year 2007-2008 at the University of Missouri, FORECAST Exchange alumni Vedrana Boskovic, an architectural student at the University of Novi Sad, has been on the move. Vedrana feels her U.S. experience led her to approach her work from different angles, giving her new questions and a search for new answers about her profession and her love: combining culture and architecture to create new forms of expression and space, preserving the beauty of the past and helping it speak to the present and the future. As Vedrana mused, “Upon my return home, I felt encouraged to continue my research by enlarging my team and motivating my colleagues to join my collaboration with a wider network of people.” She and her colleagues had been involved in preserving and identifying new cultural uses for abandoned historic buildings in Novi Sad, one of Serbia’s oldest cultural and political centers.
